APT. AVAILABLE FOR WEEKNIGHTS/WEEKENDS (Double Occupancy) (MANHATTAN) $85 1bd
Here's the thing - times are tough, and we know how to turn lemons into Mike's Hard Lemonade.
We have a beautiful and spacious first-floor 2-bedroom apt. in Harlem, one room in which we're looking to rent out on a nightly basis to responsible, mature adults who want a gorgeous place to stay while visiting Manhattan but think that paying $350 a night for a shoddy hotel is insane.
We're non-discriminating kind of people - we don't care what you look like - but we do expect you to be polite, clean and easygoing. We'd also prefer it if you didn't steal our stuff.
One thing you should know - we're a young, professional gay couple (both 27 years old). Not that that has any bearing on your stay with us, but we'd hate to have to turn someone away for being a bigot. If you're open-minded enough to accept that gays, in fact, do exist, then get in touch.
Also, we have a little puppy named Jaxon. He's super fun and lovable - and he'll expect you to treat him the same.
During your stay you can enjoy an air-conditioned/heated private room, fresh (and super soft) Ralph Lauren towels, access to our in-unit washer/dryer (no charge), flat-screen LCD TVs, and all the cereal you can eat (until we run out).
We have a Wii that you can play, too. But we'll warn you - you might get schooled in Mario Kart. Just sayin'.
Our apt. is only a few blocks away from the 1 local subway train and just up the hill from the A/C & B/D express trains. We're just minutes away from Yankee Stadium and Columbia University, and you can be in Times Square in 20 minutes by subway. The apartment is easy to get to by subway from Grand Central, Penn Station and Port Authority. A cab ride from LaGuardia is relatively inexpensive (about $40).
Any other questions, just send an e-mail and we'll reply as quickly (and honestly) as possible. $85 per night is valid for up to two people.
P.S. We will be home during your stay. This will be a shared-space situation. But a fun, inexpensive one nonetheless. We've already met some pretty fantastic people from all over the world, so the bar is high. Don't bring it down.

There was a washer and dryer... lots of towels, a comfortable bed and the subway is only a few blocks away. The neighborhood was nice and peaceful. Looking for responsible roommates (couples included) who are fun and easy-going. Unlike a lot of other group shore houses, this won't be a flop or frat house situation. There are plenty of other houses around with 15 or more people if that's what you're looking for. There will be reasonable rules, limits on weekend guests, and a maximum of 3 people per bedroom.
I am running five shore houses for Summer 2009 which are on 24th, 27th, 28th, 79th, and 80th Streets. I’m sure I have a house and age group that meets your needs. I limit the number of people on the weekends, so if you’re looking for a smaller number of roommates instead of the usual 15 to 20 associated with most shore houses, this is something you should definitely consider. And with hotel rooms costing $200 and up per night, this is a great deal if you like the shore but don’t have that large circle of friends anymore to share the expense. Since it’s a great way to make new friends, there’s no reason to sit home next summer. The cost is $1,650 for a half share, but depending on the house you pick, your season will be either 9, 10, or 11 weeks. The full season cost is $3,000 for double the weeks.
For those of you who’ve had a bad shore house experience, don’t give up on the idea of joining another house just yet. If your previous shore house didn’t have any rules, was in a bad location, had too many roommates, was not clean, had too many weekend guests, had obnoxious roommates, too much drama, etc., etc., then I have the house for you.
This setup couldn’t work without some structure, so there are reasonable rules. I think you can appreciate that. And since everything is in writing, you won't have any surprises once summer gets started. If you’re interested in getting this additional information, please let me know. I have 2 bedrooms available in a newly built split level apartment in a central location, on a quiet residential street on 5th Avenue. A mere 7 blocks away from the infamous 125th Street (5 mins walk way). Both rooms have a strict non-smoking policy!
The infamous soul food restaurants Sylvia's and Amy Ruth's are within walking distance and there is a subway station (116th St) a 3 minute walk away which will have you in Times Sq in 10 mins (4 stops away) on the express train. In fact the apartment is situated in the perfect location to get you to other areas such as Canal Street, Greenwich Village and Soho.
There's also a huge supermarket and CVS pharmacy store 2 blocks away and an additional smaller pharmacy on the corner of the street. There are great Italian and Mexican restaurants within walking distance of the apartment too.
The apartment itself is immaculate, both rooms have their own bathrooms and just the spotless modern kitchen and living room is shared. To be honest, both are barely used as everybody is out having far too much fun in this wonderful city that is New York to cook for themselves, but it's there if you feel like showing off your Gordon Ramsey skills!
ROOM 1 ($80 a night) - This is almost like a separate apartment in itself so the price is bargainous!!!!
You will have a large double bedroom boasting a large double bed, huge wardrobe, ample drawer storage, TV, DVD player, VCR, free internet access in the form of a PC (and printer) PLUS a wireless connection. There are also 2 sofas in the bedroom which provide alternative seating. In ADDITION to this you also have a large adjoining room separated by lovely wooden patio-style doors, which has a dining table, coffee maker and large fridge freezer. In one corner there is a washing machine and dryer for your convenience(washing detergent is supplied)and in the other corner is also a double bed..perfect should you have young kids accompanying you or even relatives or friends in NYC who end up crashing for the night!
The newly fitted bathroom is spotless, with a large power shower and great lighting for that all-important make-up application in front of the mirror! Fresh, fluffy towels are provided.
ROOM 2 ($60 a night) - Bright twin bedroom with 2 single beds, cable TV, fresh bedding and towels provided. You also have free wireless, cable TV and a large fridge freezer to store your fresh food, drinks or whatever you need to. Closet space is ample too.
The bathroom comes with a bath and shower fitted in it and toilet (obviously). Again, cleaned to a very high standard. The kitchen comes complete with large fridge freezer, kettle, 4 hob oven and microwave. All cutlery is provided aswell as basic condiments such as ketchup, salt, sugar, cooking oil, butter, etc The living room comes with TV, 3 piece suite, dining table, overhead fan My aim is to please and that all guests who stay in my apartment leave having had a great vacation and are eager to return when they next visit NYC. The historic Tompkins Square Park is right around the corner, as is an almost infinite amount of more great shopping, food, drink and live music.
Apartment amenities include Time Warner Cable/HBO/DVR, DVD player, High-speed Internet, a bathroom equipped with Apple dock/sound-system for disco showers ;)... & a separate kitchen with brand-new appliances.
